Zero-downtime blue-green releases

An order dashboard (FastAPI and SQLite) on one Ubuntu server, released with health checks, a graceful Nginx switch and automatic rollback.

What happens on every push
  1. GitHub Actions runs the tests. A failing test stops the release.
  2. The new code goes to the idle color, blue or green, and only that service restarts.
  3. A health gate polls /health for up to 30 seconds.
  4. Nginx switches upstream and reloads gracefully, so in-flight requests finish.
  5. Post-switch checks roll back automatically if they fail.

    • Set up Prometheus and Grafana monitoring for point-of-sale terminals and servers, using windows_exporter and custom PromQL queries.
    • Maintain the servers behind store operations, including their database backups.
    • Troubleshoot the branch network to keep stores trading.

    • Administered RHEL and Ubuntu servers: hardening, user access and security configuration.
